The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Terbuka (UT) once again demonstrated its social concern through visits to six orphanages in the South Tangerang area. DWP UT handed over donations from the proceeds of the Ramadan bazaar and donations from partners previously collected during the bazaar event in front of the Baitul Ulum Mosque, UT Central.
This activity was led by Mrs. Dra. Uun Turjanah, the wife of the UT Rector, accompanied by DWP UT members including Mrs. Een Sueni, S.E., M.Si., Dumaria Simanulang, S.Kep., Endah Susanti, S.E., Rini Fitriani S.I.Kom., Eny Sri Wahyuningsih, S.S., Eliyawati, Meysiska Harahap, and other DWP UT members who contributed to this social activity. The first visit was carried out at the Raydha Aulia Orphanage, with donations in the form of daily necessities for orphans as well as symbolic cash donations.
Subsequently, the DWP UT group visited the Rumah Tahfidz Yatim (Orphan Tahfidz House) in the Pengasinan area. At this location, DWP UT provided assistance in the form of 10 copies of the Al-Qur’an as support for children who are memorizing the Al-Qur’an. In addition, cash donations were given to eight orphans as a form of care and support for their needs.

Other visits were also made to PPQ Tazkia Bojong Sari and the Al Ikhwaniyah Pamulang Orphan and Dhuafa Foundation, and the Aulia Orphan & Dhuafa House by providing donations. Not only visiting orphanages, DWP UT also paid special attention to elderly DWP members whose husbands have retired, are elderly, or are facing poor health conditions. Individual visits were made as a form of care and solidarity, where assistance in the form of donations was delivered directly to them.

This social activity reflects the spirit of sharing and caring that is part of DWP UT’s commitment to supporting the surrounding community, especially those in need. It is hoped that through activities like this, the warmth of Ramadan can be felt by more people and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood. Through this activity, DWP UT continues to prove that collaboration and social care can have a real positive impact in the community. Hopefully, this spirit of kindness will continue and inspire more parties to share.
