Giving Life Through Learning, UT Kupang Holds Community Blood Drive

Kupang — Universitas Terbuka (UT) Kupang reaffirmed its commitment to social impact by organizing a blood donation drive on March 13, 2026, at its campus hall. The event brought together students, staff, and partners in a collective effort to support community health.

Director Albert Gamot Malau described the initiative as part of UT’s community service mission, emphasizing that even small acts like blood donation can save lives. Now in its second year, the program reflects the university’s ongoing dedication to social responsibility.

UT Kupang set a target of 40 blood bags—surpassing the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) target of 37. With over 40 participants registered, the event exceeded expectations, demonstrating strong enthusiasm from the academic community.

The activity followed proper medical procedures, including health screenings and supervised donations, ensuring a smooth and safe process. Beyond its immediate health benefits, the initiative also fostered values of empathy and solidarity among participants.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and 4 (Quality Education), the program highlights UT’s broader role—not only as a provider of accessible education but also as an active contributor to community welfare.
