FHISIP UT and FISIP Unpad Sign Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Tridharma

Bandung, Friday, July 18, 2025 – The Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences (FHISIP) of Universitas Terbuka (UT) has officially established a strategic collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad). The signing of this memorandum of understanding took place at the Assessment Center Building of FISIP Unpad Campus in Dago Atas, Bandung. 

The cooperation agreement covers the three pillars of higher education (tridharma), specifically for several Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs, particularly in Public Administration. The agreement was jointly signed by the Dean of FHISIP UT and the Dean of FISIP Unpad.

This collaboration aims to strengthen academic and research synergy between the two institutions, particularly in curriculum development, faculty and student exchange, and collaborative research relevant to social and political sciences. Dr. Meita Istianda stated that this initiative is a strategic step to expand academic networks and enhance the quality of education in both faculties, especially given Unpad’s historical role as the operational supervising campus for regional UT branches. 

“I am very optimistic that this collaboration will bring great benefits for the development of knowledge and innovation in social and political fields,” said Dr. Meita in her address. 

Meanwhile, Prof. Benny added that this cooperation will also open new opportunities to implement technology-based learning programs and community service that can have a positive impact on the surrounding environment, especially within the distance learning system. The signing ceremony concluded with a joint photo session and a brief discussion on the follow-up plans for the implementation of the cooperation between FHISIP UT and FISIP Unpad. 

With this partnership, both faculties are expected to continue to grow together and make significant contributions to the world of social and political education and research in Indonesia.
