Three UT Bogor Students Won The Law Debate Competition for Bogor Students

BOGOR, June 26, 2025 – Three Universitas Terbuka (UT) students successfully brought honor to their university in the Bogor Raya Student Law Debate Competition, organized by the Bogor City Police in commemoration of the 79th Bhayangkara Day, held at the Bogor City Police Headquarters hall.

They are Rendi Wirahadi Kusuma from the Educational Technology Study Program, along with two colleagues from the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences (FHISIP), namely Nisah Rahmawati from the Law Study Program and Elzya Suwandi from the English Literature Study Program. Both are currently in their fourth semester.

The debate, held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, brought together various universities from across the Bogor Raya area. The three UT students performed brilliantly with sharp arguments, clear delivery, and extraordinary team cohesion. They proved that distance learning is not an obstacle to achievement; instead, it becomes a strength by fostering independence and discipline.

Rendi Wirahadi Kusuma, as the debate team leader, is not only active academically but also works as a freelance mentorship. He guides Gen Z youth to remain consistent, active, and continue to grow in self-development and productivity. His mentorship activities can be followed through his TikTok and Instagram accounts at @jelas.id.

Meanwhile, Nisah Rahmawati is an active student who attends lectures while working part-time as an online fashion shopper for women’s clothing and shoes, with the Instagram account @sunraei. She demonstrates that entrepreneurial spirit can go hand-in-hand with academic skill development, including in the field of law.

Elzya Suwandi, the third member of the debate team, is equally impressive. She is a school operator at PAUD Al-Falah, Bogor, while consistently pursuing her studies at UT. Her active involvement in early childhood education provides a unique perspective that strengthened the team’s arguments during the debate.

All three agreed that their life principle is: “It is better to regret having tried than to regret never having dared to take a step at all.” They use this motto as a foundation in every struggle, whether in their studies, work, or competitions.

This victory is not just about a trophy, but about the courage to take action, consistency in learning, and the spirit of cross-program collaboration. Their achievements prove that UT students are capable of competing, are highly competitive, and become agents of change in society. Congratulations on your work and continued success. Hopefully, it will be beneficial!
