As the pioneer of digital education in Indonesia, Universitas Terbuka (UT) continues to show its commitment to providing quality distance learning for every part of society. UT continues to expand its collaborations and partnerships with various educational institutions. A concrete step in this commitment is the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (PKS) between UT’s Directorate of Information Systems (DSI) and the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP) at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM).
The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Prof. Setijadi Building, Universitas Terbuka, South Tangerang. The event was attended by Director of Information Systems (DSI) UT, Dr. Muhammad Rif’an, S.T., M.T., and Vice Dean II for General Affairs, Finance, and Staffing of FKIP ULM, Dr. Imam Yuwono, M.Pd.
In his remark, Dr. Muhammad Rif’an emphasized that UT, as a state university pioneering distance education, consistently strives to develop its educational system in line with the latest technological advancements. He stated that DSI UT plays a crucial role in this development, including the management of websites, applications, and server infrastructure that supports UT’s operations.
Echoing these sentiments, Dr. Imam Yuwono from FKIP ULM expressed his hope to learn more from UT about the digitalization of education. Recognizing the rapid advancement of technology, he highlighted the importance of educational institutions adapting and implementing innovative and cutting-edge educational systems.
Presentations at the event were delivered by Agung Wicaksono, S.Kom., Head of Information System Security and Audit, and Iswaya Maalik Syahrani, M.Kom., Assistant Manager of Application Development. They explained data storage and security on UT’s servers as well as the development of existing applications and systems. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session and discussions between the two parties.
The event continued with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement, symbolizing the official start of the strategic collaboration between DSI UT and FKIP ULM. The partnership covers several areas, including partnerships in the development of the tri dharma of higher education: education, research, and community service.
The series of events concluded with a group photo session and a tour of the Prof. Setijadi Building at UT. With the establishment of this partnership between DSI UT and FKIP ULM, it is hoped that it will create positive and sustainable impacts, particularly in supporting the provision of quality and inclusive open and distance learning for all levels of society.
