Universitas Terbuka (UT) remains committed to enhancing its quality to achieve world-class university status. Recognizing that these goals require synergy and collaboration with various institutions, UT continues to expand its network by partnering with HELP University through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).

The signing ceremony was held at the Aston Priority Simatupang Hotel in Jakarta on Saturday, June 22, 2024, as part of the Visiting Lecturer event organized by UT’s School of Postgraduate Studies. The MoU was signed by UT’s Rector, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., accompanied by Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Partnership, and Business, Rahmat Budiman, M.Hum., Ph.D., and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A. The MoA was signed by the Director of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Maman Rumanta, M.Si. HELP University was represented by its Chancellor, Datuk Prof. Dr. Paul Chen Tuck Hoong, and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Andy Liew Teik Kooi.
In his address, Prof. Ojat expressed his profound gratitude to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of HELP University for their willingness to attend and collaborate, as well as for their valuable contributions to UT. He emphasized that this partnership underscores UT’s dedication to enhancing its academic and research quality. Prof. Ojat hopes that this collaboration will encourage more UT lecturers to explore research and collaboration opportunities with international partners, ultimately benefiting UT students. He also highlighted the importance of innovation and harmony in higher education in the modern era.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Andy Liew expressed his highest appreciation to the Rector and UT staff for their warm reception and excellent service. He noted that collaboration is a core value of HELP University, which stands for helping and opening doors for collaboration to accelerate the quality and standards of higher education globally and particularly in Southeast Asia. He mentioned that this partnership offers opportunities for lecturers and students to gain new perspectives through exchange programs. Prof. Andy also hoped for prayers and support for the success of the collaboration between UT and HELP University in promoting lifelong learning and continuous innovation through synergy.
