Rector of UT, Prof. Ojat Darojat, Elected as Deputy at Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Ready to Bring Indonesian Education to The Next Level

Jakarta, January 14, 2025 – The Rector of Universitas Terbuka (UT), Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., was officially elected today as the Deputy for Coordination of Education Quality Improvement at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK). Prof. Ojat’s appointment is based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) of the Republic of Indonesia No. 22/TPA of 2025 regarding the Termination and Appointment of High Leadership Positions within the Kemenko PMK. The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony, held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, took place in a hybrid format at the Kemenko PMK office in Jakarta and was officiated by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc. The event was also broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of Kemenko PMK.  

The ceremony continued with remarks from the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude for successfully inaugurating the new officials at Kemenko PMK. “This is an extraordinary joy for us because the nation’s best talents have joined us,” he stated. 

Prof. Pratikno emphasized that this Echelon I inauguration was particularly special and different from previous ones. He remarked, “Today, the number of attendees is exceptionally high, showing the strong support for the newly appointed officials.” He added, “This significant support indicates that they are well-received and are expected to bring positive change.” 

He also reminded all the newly appointed officials of the importance of synergy, solidarity, innovation, and, most importantly, serving as role models for everyone. He expressed his hope that with today’s appointments, the work ecosystem would become more effective. 

Prof. Ojat’s election reaffirms his dedication and commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Indonesia, particularly in supporting the agenda for inclusive and sustainable human development. This appointment marks a new chapter in Prof. Ojat’s journey and represents a significant milestone for education in Indonesia. His strategic role as Deputy at Kemenko PMK is expected to make a substantial impact in promoting education quality that is not only equitable but also aligned with the demands of the times. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that Indonesian education becomes a vital pillar in fostering the nation’s golden generation by 2045.
