UT Men Fit 2025! More Than A Body Contest, Shaping Healthy and Tough Generations!

South Tangerang, August 4, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) continued to bring positive energy to the series of National Scientific Discussion, Sports, and Arts Week (DISPORSENI) 2025 with the final of UT MEN FIT 2025. Held at the Universitas Terbuka Convention Center (UTCC), UT Central Office in South Tangerang, this event was more than just a body contest; it was a platform to foster a spirit of healthy living, sportsmanship, and resilient character among Indonesian students and youth.

The UT MEN FIT finals featured 16 top finalists who had passed a rigorous selection process from a total of 40 participants across Indonesia. The finalists displayed not only physical posture and strength but also mental toughness and discipline in maintaining physical fitness. They were also judged on their self-presentation, confidence, and inspiring stories about building a healthy and productive lifestyle.

The event kicked off with a morning assembly and group exercise, and was attended by UT leadership, including the Chairman of UT’s National DISPORSENI 2025 and Director of the UT Postgraduate School, Prof. Dr. Maman Rumanta, M.Si., as well as the Chairman of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia for South Tangerang City (KONI TANGSEL), Lt. Col. (Ret.) M. Hamka Handaru, S.Ip, MBA. In his speech, Prof. Maman stated that UT MEN FIT is an event that aligns with the spirit of UT’s National DISPORSENI: uniting intellect, sports, and arts as pillars for shaping students’ character.

The Chairman of the UT MEN FIT Committee, Muhammad Eldy Iqbal, S.Sos., reported in his opening remarks that this was the first year of the event, and he was grateful for the high enthusiasm of participants from various universities. “This is proof that UT MEN FIT has become a popular competition for young people, especially men, who want to showcase a healthy, active, and spirited lifestyle,” he said. Eldy added, “Fitness is a balance between a healthy body, a strong mind, and a disciplined lifestyle—all of which are very important for students and young people.”

The excitement peaked as the 16 finalists took to the stage, performing in four groups and receiving their finalist medals. After the judges’ evaluation, four Grand Finalists were called, followed by a Q&A session and four mandatory poses. The event became even more lively with a Talkshow with the Judges.

In the UT MEN FIT 2025 Final competition, judged by Dr. Shine Pintor Siolemba Patiro, S.T., M.M. MK, Dani Kristanto, and Medy Arifin, S.E., M.M., the winners were chosen:

  • 1st Place: Muhamad Naufal Abiyi (UT Bandung)

Beyond being a physical competition, UT MEN FIT conveys a profound message about the importance of life balance and mental health, such as focus, discipline, and a spirited mindset. These values are not only crucial in the world of fitness but are also highly relevant in studies, careers, and daily life. UT MEN FIT proves that a healthy and productive lifestyle can be developed by anyone, regardless of their background, age, or profession. Students, gym community members, and the general public can all be inspired to adopt a healthy lifestyle and a positive mindset.

As part of UT’s ongoing efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, UT MEN FIT encourages students and the public to live a healthy, active, and mentally resilient lifestyle. This program is also relevant to SDG 4: Quality Education, as UT demonstrates its commitment to shaping individuals who are academically excellent and holistically balanced.

UT MEN FIT 2025 is proof that an open and distance learning university can produce a young generation that is not only intellectually smart but also physically healthy and tough in facing the challenges of the times. UT will continue to strengthen its role as an Impactful Campus that supports the comprehensive and sustainable development of Indonesian human resources.
