Tangerang Selatan, October 8, 2025 — Universitas Terbuka (UT) once again demonstrated its role as a university open to collaboration and strengthening the quality of national education. This time, UT was entrusted to host the Second Plenary Session of the Alliance of Management and Business Study Programs of Indonesia (APSMBI) 2025, attended by representatives from various universities across Indonesia.

The event, held at the UT Central Campus, began with a welcoming Betawi traditional dance performance by students from SMA Dharma Karya UT, filling the atmosphere with cultural spirit and characteristic Jakarta cheerfulness. This was followed by remarks from the General Chairman of the APSMBI National Executive Board, Dr. Muhammad Ichsan Hadjri, S.T., S.M., M.M., who conveyed the importance of this plenary forum as a space for shared reflection among all managers of management and business study programs in Indonesia.
“This Plenary is not just a routine agenda, but a momentum to discuss the dynamics of university quality assurance and determine the core competencies of graduates so that they can become a standard for higher education institutions,” he stated.
He also expressed appreciation to UT for hosting this second plenary session. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the APSMBI Supervisory Board, Dr. Ulil Hartono, S.E., M.Si, reaffirmed the critical role of the alliance, which has been established since 2014. Currently, APSMBI encompasses over 76 state universities across Indonesia.

Representing the host, the Rector of Universitas Terbuka warmly welcomed all plenary session participants. Approximately 90 participants attended offline, while others joined online via Zoom.
“UT fully supports activities that strengthen scientific synergy and social concern, both at local and international levels. We hope UT can continue to be trusted to be actively involved in various APSMBI activities,” said the UT Rector.

He also added that UT currently has around 180 thousand students in the Management Study Program, who are ready to be part of a globally competitive generation.
Through the Second Plenary Session of APSMBI 2025, Universitas Terbuka demonstrated its commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Through this forum, managers of management and business study programs from various universities collaborate to strengthen the quality assurance system and formulate core graduate competencies, ensuring alignment with the demands of the job market and global developments. This collaboration not only enhances academic standards but also expands inter-institutional networks, creating a higher education ecosystem that is inclusive, sustainable, and oriented toward improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources.
