UT Brings Joy to Children Through Free Mass Circumcission

Tangerang Selatan, June 26, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) once again demonstrated its commitment as an open university that not only excels in distance education but also has a tangible presence in the community. Through UT’s Pratama Clinic, the university held a Free Mass Circumcision event on Thursday (June 26, 2025), attended by 56 children from the areas surrounding the campus.

Held at the Universitas Terbuka Pratama Clinic, this social activity is part of UT’s annual program, demonstrating its concern for children’s health and an effort to alleviate the burden on families, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.

“This program aims to help less fortunate families, foster the spirit of mutual cooperation, educate about the importance of circumcision for early hygiene and health, and strengthen social relations between UT and the surrounding community,” said the Committee Chair, Nisa Afriza, M.KM.

In addition to providing free circumcision services, the committee also offered various additional facilities such as general health check-ups, interactive entertainment for children and families, and gift packages and pocket money for all participants. A warm and joyful atmosphere prevailed from morning until noon, as participants and their families enlivened the event.

This program received support from various parties within UT, including the Dharma Wanita Persatuan Universitas Terbuka, PPBI, and the DMAUPBJ unit. Several external partners such as Mandiri Inhealth, BNI Life, RS Hermina Ciputat, and donors from UT employees also contributed to the success of the event.

For UT, the mass circumcision activity is not just an annual ceremony but a concrete manifestation of the university’s spirit as an agent of social change. This commitment aligns with the “Impactful Campus” spirit, where the presence of the university is directly felt by the community.

With the successful execution of this event, UT further strengthens its role as an inclusive campus that cares about real community issues. This care is demonstrated not only through unlimited access to education but also through tangible actions that touch the humanitarian side.
