Palembang, May 4, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening its distance education service network through the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the Management of UT Service Centers (SALUT) throughout South Sumatra. The event, held from May 3–4, 2025, at UT Palembang, served as a strategic platform to align visions and improve the quality of education services across the entire South Sumatra region.
One of the attendees who actively participated in this event was the Head of SALUT Buay Rawan, Firman, S.E., M.Pd. During the discussion and coordination sessions, he emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among SALUTs as a key to addressing the various challenges of open and distance higher education (PTTJJ) in the digital era.
“With strong communication and synergy, we can address the evolving challenges of open and distance higher education, especially in regions with limited access,” said Firman.
This Rakorda not only discussed strategies for improving academic and administrative services but also served as a forum for SALUT heads to share experiences in facing various dynamics and challenges on the ground.
Firman stated that the experiences and best practices from other SALUTs would be very valuable to implement locally, in order to reach more UT students with fast, accurate, and friendly services.
The presence of SALUT Buay Rawan at this Rakorda was part of UT’s commitment to building an inclusive, efficient, and sustainable education ecosystem, in accordance with the values of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly point 4, Quality Education.
With the collaborative spirit and strategic discussions fostered, this Rakorda is expected to generate concrete and impactful work plans for the quality of UT’s education services in South Sumatra.
