Tangerang Selatan, 14 January 2025 – Wholesomeness and pride covers the Rasamala Room, Wisma 2 Universitas Terbuka (UT). Dewi Cahyani Pangestuti (NIM 530057831), Student of the Management Doctor’s Program of UT Bogor, successfully passed her final open test for doctor’s study program (TAPD) and defended her dissertation in front of testers and invited guests. 

This event was attended by Vice Rector III and Vice Rector IV of UT, who witnessed the academic milestone. In addition, Dewi Cahyani’s family and colleagues from Faculty of Economy of UPN Veteran Jakarta were also present, giving her moral support. 

In this open test, Dewi presented her dissertation titled “Determinant Modification of Enterprise Risk Management and How It Affects Intellectual Capital Moderated Work Rate (Study Case on Mining in Southeast Asia)”. This research developed the Modified Enterprise Risk Management Index and studied the role of Intellectual Capital in increasing the output of mining companies in Southeast Asia. 

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, S.E., M.Si., as the promotor, alongside Dr. Ira Geraldina, S.E., M.S., Ak., CA and Dr. Darmawan, M.AB, CFRM as co-promotor, this research succeeded in showing new discoveries in risk management. After going through an interactive QnA section, Dewi passed with a satisfactory result and now holds the title of Doctor in Management. 

Director of Postgraduate School stated that “This achievement is not merely a personal milestone, but also a showcase of contribution for risk management, specifically in mining in Southeast Asia.” UT hopes that this research can be a reference for academics and practitioners in managing risks effectively.
