Tangerang, February 13, 2025 – In realizing synergy in the field of women’s empowerment, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Terbuka (UT) paid a visit to Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta) in a Sharing Session activity that took place in the 4th Floor Meeting Room, Untirta Rectorate Building. This event aimed to strengthen friendship and share experiences in carrying out women’s empowerment, social, and educational programs.
The Chair of DWP Untirta, Mrs. Hj. Omah Rohmawati, S.Pd., and her staff warmly welcomed the DWP UT group led by Mrs. Dra. Uun Turjanah, Chair of DWP-UT, and other administrators.
The event began with the recitation of prayers, followed by a speech from the Chair of DWP UT. In her speech, Mrs. Dra. Uun Turjanah expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome from DWP Untirta. She also emphasized the importance of forums like this as a place to exchange experiences in supporting the role of women, both in the family and in the academic environment.


“This visit is not just an ordinary meeting, but also to learn from each other and share insights about the role of DWP in accompanying husbands and contributing to institutions and society,” said Mrs. Uun Turjanah.
The Chair of DWP Untirta, Mrs. Hj. Omah Rohmawati, S.Pd., in her speech welcomed this visit and hoped to continue to establish productive collaboration with DWP UT. “We believe that through this discussion, we can strengthen programs that support family welfare, women’s empowerment, and improve the quality of education,” she said.
In the main session, both parties presented their respective flagship programs, covering the fields of education, social, economic, and women’s empowerment. The discussion took place interactively with various ideas and experiences shared to enrich insights and seek opportunities for future synergy.
DWP Untirta presented a number of flagship programs that have been implemented, including:
1. Education Sector
- Parenting Seminar: Supporting family education by strengthening the role of women in parenting and building harmonious and quality families in the modern era.
- Talk Show: An educational forum that discusses educational issues and parenting patterns.
- Skills Training: Developing members’ creativity and innovation in creating economically valuable handmade products.
- Launching of the Reading Park: Increasing literacy and providing access to reading materials for the community around the campus.
- PPKS (DWP Campus Friends): Collaboration with the PPKS Task Force to create a campus environment that is safe from sexual violence.
- Comparative Study: Expanding insights and improving the effectiveness of organizational work programs.
2. Economic Sector
- Entrepreneurship: Providing training and support for members who have businesses to develop and become independent.
- Cooperation with MSMEs: Encouraging the growth of local MSMEs through product promotion and marketing.
3. Social and Cultural Sector
- Tourism Visits: Visiting educational and cultural destinations to strengthen relationships between members.
- Friday Blessings: Food sharing program for pilgrims after Friday prayers.
- Social Service (Baksos): Social activities that include health, education, and economic empowerment for people in need.
- Orphan Assistance: Cultivating social awareness and building good relationships with the surrounding community.
- Ramadan Bazaar: Providing decent used clothing at affordable prices and as a fundraising event for other social activities.
Universitas Terbuka’s DWP also shared their experiences and initiatives in supporting the role of women in the academic environment and society. Various similarities in the vision and mission of the two organizations provide great opportunities to establish cooperation in the future.
The event closed with lunch at the KHAS Untirta canteen, strengthening the togetherness between DWP Untirta and DWP UT. This visit is expected to be the beginning of closer collaboration in various programs that benefit DWP members and the wider community.
