Bekasi Now Has SALUT Wibawa Sakti, College is Now Easier!

Bekasi, February 15, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) continues to expand its services by inaugurating the Universitas Terbuka Service Center (SALUT) Wibawa Sakti. This service center is located at Ruko Simprug Plaza, Wibawa Mukti Stadium Area, Jl. Cikarang Baru Raya No.B1 No. 26, Sertajaya, East Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java 17823. This location is considered strategic because it is close to the Wibawa Mukti Stadium, which is an icon of the Bekasi Regency area. 

The inauguration of SALUT Wibawa Sakti aims to increase access to academic information services for UT students in Bekasi Regency and its surroundings. With the inauguration of this service center, Raden Rachman Surachman, S.Kom., officially serves as the Head of SALUT Wibawa Sakti, based on the Cooperation Agreement between UT Jakarta and SALUT Wibawa Sakti with Number B/8/UN31.UT13/HK.08.00/2025. 

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector of UT for Information Systems and Student Affairs, Prof. Paken Pandiangan, S.Si., M.Si., Director of UT Jakarta, Ir. Edward Zubir, M.M., Head of the Bekasi Regency Education Office, Imam Faturochman, ST., M.Si., Chairman of PGRI Bekasi Regency, as well as the Head of District and Chief of Police of East Cikarang. Also present were sub-district regional coordinators, school supervisors, school principals, SALUT administrators, UT Jakarta leadership, UT Jakarta cooperation marketing staff, and representatives from various companies, government agencies, and UT students from Bekasi Regency. 

UT students in the Bekasi Regency area enthusiastically welcomed the presence of SALUT Wibawa Sakti. With this service center, access to academic information is easier and closer for students. This initiative is in line with Universitas Terbuka’s mission to expand equitable access to education throughout Indonesia. 

In his speech, the Vice Rector of UT for Information Systems and Student Affairs, Prof. Paken Pandiangan S.Si., M.Si., said that the presence of SALUT Wibawa Sakti is a strategic step to provide convenience for students in accessing academic and administrative services efficiently. SALUT acts as an extension of the UT Regional in providing academic administrative services and supporting student academic activities in various regions. Salut is a manifestation of Universitas Terbuka’s vision and mission and a representative of the central government to improve the quality of human resources in all regions of Indonesia.” 

“The existence of Salut plays an important role in helping local governments to improve human resources in the region. So there is no longer any reason for the community not to go to college because of time and cost,” said Prof. Paken Pandiangan. 

In line with this, the Director of UT Jakarta, Ir. Edward Zubir, M.M stated that the presence of SALUT Wibawa Sakti is expected to be a major driver for Bekasi Regency towards a better future of education. SALUT Wibawa Sakti is the spearhead to present more service-friendly education, provide easy access, and create flexible learning experiences for students in every region without students having to go to the head office and UT service units in each region. 

“With SALUT, students in the Cikarang area, especially East Cikarang and South Cikarang, no longer need to travel far to the head office or service units in other cities to get academic information and assistance,” said Edward, Director of UT Jakarta. 

Furthermore, the Head of the Bekasi Regency Education Office, Imam Faturochman, ST., M.Si. welcomed the presence of SALUT Wibawa Sakti as a representative of Universitas Terbuka in the Bekasi Regency area in order to improve quality human resources and expand access to quality education services. With this, Imam is optimistic that the people of Bekasi Regency will be increasingly motivated to pursue higher education. 

SALUT Wibawa Sakti offers various services, including: 

  • a) Socialization and promotion in the Bekasi Regency area. 
  • b) Information regarding new student registration and course registration. 
  • c) Academic consultation regarding lectures and completion of assignments. 
  • d) Guidance in using the online learning system at UT. 
  • e) Provision of learning facilities for students who need internet access and teaching materials. 
  • f) Facilities to develop student interests and talents in accordance with the rules of student organizations and regional scientific centers, including extracurricular activities, skills training, academic seminars, and competitions in various scientific fields. 

With these various services, UT students in Bekasi Regency certainly welcome the services provided by SALUT, because they help them in overcoming various obstacles, such as limited access to information and academic support due to the distance from the UT service center. 

With the presence of SALUT Wibawa Sakti, it is hoped that Universitas Terbuka students in this region can get better support in completing their studies optimally.
