Healty, Fit, and Youthful as Ade Rai: National Health Seminar at Universitas Terbuka

On February 29, 2024, Universitas Terbuka hosted a National Health Seminar with the theme “Hidup Sehat, Bugar, dan Awet Muda Ala Ade Rai” (Healthy, Fit, and Forever Young Living Ala Ade Rai) at Universitas Terbuka Convention Center, Tangerang Selatan. The renowned speaker for the event was I Gusti Agung Rai Kusuma Yudha, better known as Ade Rai. The seminar was made possible through the support of Mandiri In Health and UT Primary Care Clinic under UT Business and Investment Management Center (Pusat Pengelolaan Bisnis dan Investasi – PPBI). Participants included UT central office staff, the Chairwoman of Dharma Wanita UT, and members of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) UT. The event was also broadcasted on ‘Pusat Bisnis UT’ YouTube channel.

Before officially opening the event, Mr. Muhammad Kastholani, Head of Marketing Office Jakarta 3 Mandiri In Health, delivered a speech. He emphasized Mandiri In Health’s focus on the promotive sector to ensure the well-being of UT assets (human resources) not only through treatment but also preventive measures. Maintaining health is a priority, and he hoped the seminar would support a healthy lifestyle and keep away against chronic diseases. With the motto “Menjaga Aset Terbaik Anda” (Protecting Your Best Assets), Mandiri In Health supports seminar programs and plans to organize more health seminars in the future.

Representing the UT Rector, Rahmat Budiman, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Business at Universitas Terbuka, officially opened the event. He highlighted UT four decades of contributions to higher education in Indonesia, particularly in providing quality higher education access through Distance Learning (Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh – PJJ) using online learning for all segments of society and implementing “Making Higher Education Open to All” as a motto. Mr. Rahmat stressed the importance of maintaining good health, especially as UT has upgraded its status to PTNBH (Legal Entity State University). He underlined the responsibility of UT leaders to ensure the well-being of all employees, emphasizing the commitment of staff to maintain their health. This commitment is crucial because educational institutions play a vital role in supporting the movement for a healthy, fit, and youthful. He also emphasized the need for optimal efforts in education and prevention of diseases.

The seminar was guided by Martino Wibowo, Ph.D., Chair of the Doctoral Program in Management Science (DIM) at UT Graduate School. Ade Rai, a bodybuilding athlete and a well-known fitness figure in Indonesia, delivered a presentation titled “Sehat itu Murah, karena yang Mahal itu Sakit” (Health is Inexpensive, as What is Expensive is illness). Ade Rai added, “The legacy of a healthy lifestyle is not about dependency but about independence. Sickness actually signifies an imbalance within the body, and the body inherently has the ability to maintain balance.” Participants enthusiastically listened to Ade Rai’s warm and delighted presentation, which proved highly beneficial for their health.

The event concluded with a group photo inviting Ade Rai, Vice Rector for Finance, Resources, and General Affairs, Vice Rector for Information Systems and Student Affairs, Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Business, Head of the Business and Innovation Management Center, Head of Marketing Office Jakarta 3 Mandiri In Health, Chairwoman of DWP UT, and Head of Pondok Cabe Ilir Community Health Center.
