Jakarta, February 22, 2024 – In support of the Kampus Merdeka Program, Universitas Terbuka (UT), as one of its partner universities, facilitated one of its students, Annisaseptriyana (PGSD FKIP-UT), to register for the Bangkit Academy 2023 Batch 1 and participate in the Bangkit Incubation with the GoDentist team. Bangkit is a student competency development program designed for careers in the tech industry through a partnership between the Directorate General of Higher Education, Google, Gojek, Tokopedia, Traveloka, and university partners. A total of twenty student group final projects from Bangkit 2023 Batch 1 Merdeka Campus successfully made it to the incubation stage, including the GoDentist team, which received a grant and business startup upskilling from Bangkit Incubation.

Dental health is a crucial aspect of human health that requires attention, as dental issues can significantly impact daily productivity. The GoDentist team recognized a serious dental health problem in Indonesia, with 57.6% of the population experiencing dental and oral health issues, yet only 10.2% receiving medical treatment. Hence, the GoDentist app was developed to address the limited accessibility to dental health facilities and raise public awareness about the importance of dental health. The app features AI-based dental scanning, online consultations with dentists, and clinic booking, allowing users to manage their dental health online anytime, anywhere.
Under the guidance of Surya Sastra Sasmita, BSc, CEC, CPC, CHRM, CH, CHt, MNLP as Business Advisor, and Najib Abdillah as Tech Advisor, and with support from Fitria Amastini, S.Kom., M.T.I (SI FST UT) as Academic Advisor, and Nursyamsi, drg, M.Kes (FKG UNHAS) as Expert Advisor in Dental Health, and assisted by Mutiara Arumsari from the Bangkit Team, GoDentist also established its legal entity, PT PERIKSA GIGI INDONESIA, in November 2023.
On Thursday, February 22, 2024, the GoDentist team won the “Big Bang Award” for “Best Digital Branding” from Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, and Traveloka at the Bangkit 2024 Graduation Ceremony. This award is expected to motivate GoDentist to enhance its performance in digital branding as a dental health platform, provide accessible products and services to all community levels, and improve dental health quality through educational information shared on GoDentist’s social media.

GoDentist’s strategy in Bangkit Incubation focuses on raising awareness about dental health through its social media marketing channels, particularly Instagram @GoDentist.id. In the first quarter, GoDentist made several improvements to enhance the app’s performance, aiming to be beneficial to all Indonesian communities. GoDentist aims to bridge the gap between dentists and the public by facilitating easy communication and early detection of dental health issues using AI technology, establishing itself as a leader in Teledentistry.
Besides the Teledentistry app, GoDentist offers an Electronic Medical Records feature named GoClinic System for dental health, simplifying clinic management for dentists. Post Bangkit Incubation, GoDentist is actively seeking partnerships and funding. The team hopes to address dental health issues in Indonesia effectively, align with government efforts to eradicate dental health problems, and eventually become a Unicorn.
We hope to receive support from all community levels for the GoDentist startup and welcome any feedback for the development of our app. Moving forward, we aim to collaborate with more dental clinics and dentists to advance the GoDentist startup. Let’s work together to ensure a healthy smile for all Indonesians with GoDentist!
