In its 40 years of existence, Universitas Terbuka (UT) remains committed to continuously enhancing its capacity and quality over time. UT now holds the status of a State University Legal Entity (PTN-BH), officially recognized by the government through Government Regulation No. 39 of 2022 on PTN-BH Universitas Terbuka. As a PTN-BH, UT focuses on improving the quality of its human resources to support its reputation, performance, and overall quality.
To strengthen its organizational structure and improve human resources, UT held the inauguration of new officials at UT Central. The inauguration ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Universitas Terbuka Multipurpose Building (GSG) in a physical setting, while UT Regional Heads across Indonesia attended online via Zoom Meeting. The event was also attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A., representing the Rector of UT, along with the Head of the Academic Senate, the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Vice Rectors, Deans, and witnesses.


Based on the Rector’s Decrees of Universitas Terbuka Numbers 4403, 4405, 4406, 4409, 4414, 4415 of 2024, and Number 4446 of 2024, dated September 9, 2024, the Rector of Universitas Terbuka, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., stipulated that effective from September 11, 2024, several officials were honorably dismissed, and some were appointed to new positions. Officials who were dismissed include:
– Prof. Daryono, as Head of PRI-RTJJ at LPPM.
– Dr. Etty Puji Lestari, as Head of PK Center at LPPM.
– Dr. Mery Noviyanti, as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at FKIP.
– Dr. Irsanti Widuri Asih, as Manager of Academic Quality Assurance at KPM.
– Devi Ayuni, M.Si., as Expert Staff in Policy at the Rector’s Office.
– Jeji Muhamad Najib, S.Kom, as Marketing and Registration Manager at UT Bogor.
– Dr. Malta, as Marketing and Registration Manager at UT Padang.
– Roman Hadi Saputro, M.IP., as Coordinator of Registration, Learning, and Exams at UT Sorong.
Furthermore, based on Rector’s Decrees 4403 to 4410 and 4412 to 4415 dated September 6, 2024, and Number 4446 of 2024, effective from the inauguration on September 11, 2024, the Rector of Universitas Terbuka APPOINTED several officials to new roles:
– For official duty, appointing Ali Tarigan, S.E., as Director of DPKS for the term 2023-2028.
– Additional Duties/Positions for the term 2024-2029:
– Dr. Etty Puji Lestari, as Head of PRI PTJJ at LPPM.
– Dr. Mery Noviyanti, as Head of PK Center at LPPM.
– Devi Ayuni, M.Si., as Director of UT Majene.
– Jeji Muhamad Najib, S.Kom, as Director of UT Tarakan.
– Dr. Irsanti Widuri Asih, as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at FHISIP.
– Dr. Rini Dwiyani Hadiwidjaja, as Manager of Academic Quality Assurance at PKM.
– Dr. A. Hadian Pratama Hamzah, as Head of Environmental Studies Master’s Program at SPs.
– M. Fuad Hadziq, M.Si., as Head of the Islamic Economics Program at FEB.
– Muhammad Sulaiman, M.Pd., as Head of the Islamic Education Program at FKIP.
– Dr. Malta, as Marketing and Registration Manager at UT Padang.
– Michel Jacson Nalawo Potolau, M.AP., as Coordinator of Registration, Learning, and Exams at UT Sorong.
– Oki Putra Budiarahman, S.H., as Sub-Head of Non-Academic Affairs at SPs.

UT’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A., expressed gratitude to all the outgoing officials for their dedicated service and welcomed the new officials who will take on responsibilities in their respective units. In his remarks, Dr. Mohamad Yunus emphasized that as a PTN-BH, UT must continually strive to enhance training and human resource development in line with current innovations. “This restructuring and inauguration are strategic steps to strengthen UT’s growing and innovative organization,” he explained. He also highlighted the importance of consistency in communicating information to students and the public, suggesting that updates be provided at least six times each semester.
Dr. Mohamad Yunus further conveyed that although change is inevitable, he believes each individual has their own role and time to make the best contribution. “I trust that the officials inaugurated today will carry out their duties responsibly, uphold ethical standards, and contribute maximally to improving Universitas Terbuka’s reputation,” said Dr. Mohamad Yunus. He reminded the newly appointed officials that a leader reflects the organization they lead, and it is crucial to remain adaptive to change. “We must realize that the world keeps changing, and we must be prepared to face new challenges for UT’s advancement,” he added.
The appointment and inauguration of these officials reflect Universitas Terbuka’s commitment to continuously improving service quality as a PTN-BH. In this new era of UT as a PTN-BH, the newly appointed officials are expected to remain committed to addressing the new challenges that UT will face. They are anticipated to carry out their responsibilities with professionalism, integrity, and high accountability, upholding ethical standards. This step supports the implementation of UT’s vision and mission as a pioneer and innovator of distance education in Indonesia.
