Upholding Truth Through Journalism and Flexible Learning

Born in Purwakarta on 14 January 2002, Siti Aminah grew up in a close-knit environment that nurtured her sensitivity to stories and social realities. From an early interest in writing and observation, she chose journalism as a path to seek and safeguard truth.

Since August 2023, Aminah has worked as a young journalist at Media Sukri Indonesia (MSI Group). For her, journalism is not about speed, but responsibility—delivering verified and complete facts to the public. Amid intensive reporting assignments, she also pursues higher education as a student at Universitas Terbuka (UT).

UT’s flexible distance-learning system enables Aminah to balance her academic journey with her professional duties, even while moving between reporting locations. Education, for her, is not a sacrifice for work but a foundation that sharpens her perspective and critical thinking as a journalist—reflecting the spirit of SDG 4 (Quality Education).

In an era vulnerable to misinformation, Aminah holds firmly to journalistic integrity. “Journalists must filter information—not just be fast, but accurate and responsible,” she says. This commitment aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

Currently preparing for the Intermediate Journalist Competency Test (UKW Madya), Aminah views certification as reflection rather than formality. Her journey illustrates how inclusive and flexible higher education, combined with integrity, empowers young professionals to make meaningful contributions to society.
