New Spirits, New Steps, HIMA UT Bandung Ready to Inspire Through Real Actions

Bandung, September 28, 2025 — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Terbuka (UT) Bandung inaugurated the new executive boards for the FKIP Student Association (HIMA) for the 2025–2027 period and the Study Program HIMAs for the 2025–2026 period. The solemn induction ceremony was held at the UT Bandung Campus Hall on Jalan Cabe Raya.

The event, attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, students from various study programs, and invited guests, was more than just a change in organizational structure; it was a significant milestone in the regeneration of student leadership. The new boards are expected to bring a fresh spirit of solidarity, collaboration, and innovation to the FKIP UT Bandung environment. Furthermore, the induction process signifies the continuity of the struggle from one generation to the next, ensuring the spirit of dedication and social responsibility remains intact.

In his address, the Director of UT Bandung, Drs. Enceng, M.Si, asserted that the inauguration is not only about organizational structure but also about the commitment to continue the mission of education. With the new boards in place, several programs have been designed to enrich the student experience. These activities include academic seminars and workshops, gatherings (makrab), student competitions, and community service programs. Through these activities, HIMA aims to shape students who are not only intellectually capable but also socially conscious of their surroundings.

The educational mission aligns with the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), which emphasizes the importance of inclusive education access and lifelong learning. UT Bandung, with its open and distance learning system, is a tangible example of efforts to create equality in learning opportunities for everyone, regardless of age, location, or social status.

Furthermore, the collaboration between students and lecturers in HIMA activities supports SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), as it opens up an equal space for participation for all students, including those who work, live in remote areas, or have time constraints. Meanwhile, the cooperation between students, the faculty, and various partners in carrying out social programs reflects the implementation of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals)

Similar hopes came from the lecturers, who view the new boards as an opportunity to cultivate discipline, innovation, and social consciousness among students. The synergy established between the faculty and student organizations is expected to be a positive energy in advancing the quality of learning and campus life.

The event concluded with an enthusiastic group photo session. Joy and a sense of togetherness radiated from the faces of the new executives, signaling their readiness to step forward as a solid, creative, and inspiring extended family of FKIP UT Bandung. This inauguration is not merely a ceremony but a real manifestation of Universitas Terbuka’s commitment to producing educators who are competitive, leadership-driven, and oriented toward sustainable development
