South Tangerang, September 1, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) held a Consolidation Meeting with its strategic partners under the theme “Building Strong and Impactful Collaborations.” This forum was designed to strengthen UT’s synergy with various stakeholders from government, educational institutions, industries, and the community to enhance UT’s contribution to open, flexible, and inclusive higher education.
This event marks one of the first major agendas under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, S.E., M.Si., as the new Rector for the 2025–2030 period. In his speech, Prof. Ali emphasized that UT will continue to transform into a global digital campus with a real impact on society. “Universitas Terbuka is not only here as Indonesia’s largest distance education provider, but also as a strategic national partner to improve the quality of human resources towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” he said.
During the forum, the Rector outlined a strategic direction through three major phases: SHINE (2025–2026), focusing on foundational strengthening; STARS (2027–2028), for accelerating performance and strategic growth; and RID (2029–2030), aimed at global consolidation and sustainable competitiveness. This strategy is supported by five pillars of transformation, including transformative tri-dharma of higher education, international orientation, strengthening human resources and governance, diversifying financial resources, and academic entrepreneurship and downstreaming.
The consolidation meeting was attended by and received strong support from a wide range of strategic partners, including representatives from major companies in logistics and courier services, banking and finance, printing and publishing. These partners include J&T Express, PT. Pos Indonesia, PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, PT. Bank Mandiri, PT. Bank Syariah Indonesia, and PT. Gramedia, among many others.
The collaborations with these strategic partners are aimed at improving student services, particularly in financial access and transactions, accelerating the distribution of learning materials through logistics partners, and strengthening student entrepreneurship through startup incubation programs. With over 770,000 active students and over 2.5 million alumni, UT underscores the crucial role of its partners in supporting the sustainability of its distance education services.

This event also demonstrates UT’s and its partners’ contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) through open and flexible access to higher education, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through entrepreneurship development and academic downstreaming, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cross-sector collaboration.
Through this strong consolidation with its strategic partners, UT ensures that every step of its transformation is not only oriented toward academic growth but also creates a real impact on Indonesian society and strengthens its global contribution to technology-based distance education.
