Everyone Can Go to College, SALUT Doktor Sukarni Bojonegoro Hones New Students with Spirits of Open and Distance Learning

Bojonegoro, September 8, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT), through the Doktor Sukarni Bojonegoro Learning Center (SALUT), successfully held a Campus Introduction Period (MPK) for new students, also known as the New Student Orientation (OSMB). This event was a strategic moment to introduce UT’s distance learning system and foster a spirit of excellence among the next generation of the nation.

New students were welcomed with various introductory materials, ranging from understanding UT’s flexible learning model and utilizing digital learning applications to accessing academic services anytime and anywhere. The presence of SALUT Bojonegoro further emphasizes UT’s role in expanding access to higher education into regional areas, allowing the community to pursue a university degree without being constrained by distance or time.

“We are committed to mentoring, guiding, and providing the widest possible space for new students to develop into excellent, creative, critical, and integrated individuals,” said M. Rendrawan Setiya Nugraha, S.Pd, S.S, M.Hum, Promotion and Student Affairs Manager of SALUT Doktor Sukarni.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the event, Ihza Azria Akbar, stated that this activity was meticulously prepared to create a warm and inspiring atmosphere for the new students. “We want this MPK to be a pleasant and motivating first experience, so they are more prepared to undergo their studies at UT,” he said.

The MPK event was filled with various introductory sessions, motivational talks, and interactive discussions. In addition to introducing UT’s unique distance learning system, the event also fostered a sense of togetherness among new students from various backgrounds.

A spirited atmosphere was visible as new students interacted with tutors and educational staff, who provided guidance and motivation to prepare them for their studies. The MPK was not only a means of introducing the campus but also of strengthening the bond between new students and building their self-confidence to pursue higher education independently.

This achievement also aligns with UT’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 on quality education through expanding access to inclusive and equitable learning, SDG 10 on reduced inequalities by providing learning opportunities for all, and SDG 17 on partnerships in creating collaborations with local governments and partners to strengthen the educational ecosystem.

With the spirit of “Everyone Can Go to College,” UT, through SALUT Doktor Sukarni Bojonegoro, continues to provide flexible, affordable, and impactful higher education services to the community.

With the spirit built from the start, it is hoped that UT SALUT Doktor Sukarni Bojonegoro students will be able to confidently embark on their academic journey and bring value to their communities.
