More Than Just a Game
In his opening report, the Chairman of DISPORSENINAS UT 2025, Prof. Dr. Maman Rumanta, M.Si., emphasized that the tournament is not just for winning but also for scouting talented student-athletes, introducing UT more widely through sports, and cultivating a spirit of sportsmanship among young people. “We hope this competition becomes a platform for nurturing young talent who can contribute at the national, and even international, level,” he said.

In his official opening speech, Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, S.E., M.Si., stated that sports are a means of character building that aligns with UT’s vision of shaping a generation that is resilient, adaptive, and collaborative. “Winning is a bonus, losing is a lesson, but sportsmanship and camaraderie are the true victory,” he asserted before pressing the button to officially start the tournament.
The opening ceremony included a symbolic free throw by Prof. Ali Muktiyanto, a representative from PERBASI, and the Committee Chairman, followed by an All-Star Fun Match with national basketball player Kelly Purwanto, who inspired the participants. In addition to the games, a Coaching Clinic was held to equip participants with professional basketball techniques, strategies, and ethics.

The competition followed the official rules of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) for 3×3 basketball. It tested not only physical ability and strategy but also team coordination, agility, and the mental consistency of the young players.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this event supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through character building outside the classroom, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among UT, PERBASI, KONI, schools, and banking partners. Through this activity, UT combines its mission of education, health, and cross-sector collaboration to produce a young generation that is healthy, smart, and of strong character.
With a spirit of harmony in sportsmanship, creativity, and intellect, UT is optimistic that this tournament will not only produce champions on the court but also future basketball talents who will bring honor to Indonesia at national and international levels.
