Universitas Terbuka (UT) keeps strengthening its commitment in Transparency of Public Information (KIP). This commitment is emphasized through a socialization event by Information and Documentation Organizing Officials (PPID) of UT to all representatives from UT Central Office and Regional Offices.
This event went on during the Management Review Meeting (RTM) on April 17, 2025, in Bogor. Director of Marketing and Partnership (DPKS) and Main PPID Member, Ali Tarigan, S.E., delivered achievements and strategic steps by PPID during 2024.
“Alhamdulillah, during the first year of UT’s involvement in the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of KIP by the Commision of Central Information of RI, UT received the predicate of Towards Informative. This is a good beginning for all of us.” He stated.

He also emphasized that this success must be followed by the growth of commitment from every single unit. In his opinion, transparency of information is not merely a legal obligation, but also a part of the accountable and responsive public service spirit. He pushes UT Officials to give the best services in order for UT to reach the predicate of Informative.
Before PPID, UT have previously opened public information access through various digital channels like official websites of UT and UT Regional Offices, Documentation and Legal Information Network (JDIH), MyUT, social media, Promise UT, videotrons, and digital libraries.
This event gained serious attention from UT leaders and RTM participants, knowing UT’s position as a state university with Open and Distance Learning (ODL) reaching every Indonesian district, even overseas.
The support towards information transparency is also expressed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Acting for Research, Innovation, Partnership, and Business, Rahmat Budiman, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., who is also part of the main PPID. He emphasized that KIP cannot optimally run without the solid collaboration of every single UT leader and official.
“The service of information and document management is a collective responsibility. The support of central and regional leaders means everything to PPID in order to function responsively, maximally, and in accordance with the law.” said Rahmat Budiman, Ph.D.
This socialization is a part of UT’s sustainable efforts in educating and strengthening the capacity of its officials in public information management. UT plans to conduct further technical training and reinforce the documentation system to enhance PPID’s service.
With this event, UT hopes that information transparency is not merely a slogan, but a work culture within UT.
