Komang Ayu, UT Student bringing Indonesia to the Final of Uber Cup 2024 

Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi Competes in an international Uber Cup 2024 in Chengdu, China. The student of Ut Denpasar set Indonesia to the Final by defeating South Korea 3-2 in the Semifinal Uber Cup 2024 on Saturday, May 4, 2024. An intense match between Komang Ayu and Kim Min Sun brought the match to the rubber game. Komang Ayu won the duel, confirming the Indonesia Woman Team’s participation in the final. 

Even in the final, China won 3-5, and Indonesia became the runner-up. This achievement has gained Indonesia pride since the last time that Indonesia reached the final in the Uber Cup was 16 years ago. In addition, the opponents during Uber 2024 were very tough since their ranks were above Indonesia. 

Koang Ayu has achieved a ton of achievements, including the silver medal in Double and a bronze medal in Single Woman in SEA Games 2023. Other achievements were the winner of Nantes International Challenge 2023 (Single Woman), Runner Up in Bahrain International Series 2021 (Tunggal Putri), Gold Medal PON XX in Papua 2021 (Tunggal Putri), bronze medal PON XX (2021) beregu Putri) and many more. 

Even the number of accomplishments does not make her forget to study. The athlete comes from Buleleng, Bali, and is registered as a Bachelor of Law student at UT. In addition, Chandra Wijaya, an ex-badminton athlete who achieved a gold medal in the Sydney Olympics in 2000, is a Bachelor of Management student at UT. 

The spirit demonstrated by both Indonesian athletes became a real example for other UT students to keep up their spirit and strive for their education. Becoming a remarkable athlete is not easy, not to mention that it requires time to study.
