Entrepreneur Student, Main Booster of Inclusive Economy Towards Golden Indonesia 2045

Universitas Terbuka recently held an entrepreneurship talk show as part of its Studium Generale. This event was a collaboration between the Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Terbuka and UT Malang. The theme was “Developing Student Entrepreneurship Potential Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” aligning with the SDGs’ economic development pillar, specifically Goal 8, “Decent Work and Economic Growth.” This goal promotes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, productive and inclusive employment, and decent work for all. The theme also aligns with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative, which includes entrepreneurship. 

The seminar was conducted in a hybrid format (both online and in-person) at Malang Creative Center (MCC), Malang, with live streaming on UT TV’s YouTube channel. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Eko Sri Yuliadi, S.Sos., M.M. (Head of the Malang City Office of Cooperatives, Industry, and Trade). Featured speakers included Agripta Ananda Putra (Owner of Nahwa Travel), Hj. Khosidah, S.E. (Mak Rum Fruit Chips), and Dr. Abdurrahman Rahim Thaha, M.AB. (Lecturer at UT’s Faculty of Law, Social, and Political Sciences). The seminar was opened by Dr. Meita Istianda, S.IP., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Law, Social, and Political Sciences (FHISIP) at Universitas Terbuka. 

In her remarks, the FHISIP Dean emphasized the seminar theme’s alignment with Indonesia’s Youth Pledge Day, where today’s youth express this spirit through entrepreneurship to realize a Golden Indonesia 2045. The keynote speech also highlighted the government’s role in fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem, with the Malang Creative Center serving as a space for Malang residents to pursue their interests and talents, especially in the creative industry. 

Speaker Agripta Ananda Putra discussed the importance of starting entrepreneurship in college, steps for building a business, and keys to business success. He also emphasized the value of having dreams and seeking parental approval in each decision. Similarly, Hj. Khosidah, S.E., discussed “How to Start and Develop a Business,” stressing the importance of market needs analysis in formulating business strategies, instilling values in employees, and treating employees like family. Dr. Abdurrahman Rahim Thaha, M.AB., spoke about the urgency of a Golden Indonesia by 2045 and strategies for growing MSMEs. He highlighted the importance of instilling ethics and resilience, especially in Generation Z.  

The event concluded with an interactive discussion session featuring participants, including students and speakers, sharing their experiences on entrepreneurship. The session ended with door prizes for active participants, and souvenirs and certificates were given to the speakers.
