As part of Universitas Terbuka’s (UT) commitment to improving the quality of inclusive and sustainable higher education, UT, through its Surakarta Regional Office, held a Regional Graduation Ceremony attended by 570 graduates at Graha Saba Buana Hall, Solo City, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Four outstanding graduates received special recognition for achieving the highest Grade Point Averages (GPA). They were Listian Nur Rahma from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) with a GPA of 3.86, Eunike Chrisopras from the Faculty of Law, Political, and Social Sciences (FHISIP) with a GPA of 3.88, Anissa Fitriyah from the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP) with a GPA of 3.87, and Andi Rosilala from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) with a GPA of 3.78.
The awards were presented directly by the Chairperson of the UT Senate, Prof. Dr. Chanif Nurcholis, M.Si., and the Director of UT Surakarta, Dra. Yulia Budiwati, M.Si. This recognition symbolizes the university’s appreciation for the dedication and perseverance of UT students who pursue their studies through an open and flexible learning system.
One of the top graduates, Eunike Chrisopras, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to study at UT, which provides an open space for anyone to learn without limits.
“At Universitas Terbuka, we learned discipline, self-confidence, resilience, and consistency. All of these are valuable lessons that will help us step forward into the world of work and society,” she said.
Through its innovative distance learning model, commonly known as online learning, UT Surakarta continues to expand access to higher education for people from various backgrounds. This initiative aligns with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in promoting quality, inclusive, and equitable education for all — regardless of age, distance, or social status.
The Director of UT Surakarta emphasized that the awards for outstanding graduates are not only a form of appreciation but also serve as motivation for all students to continue growing and contributing to the development of Indonesia’s future generations.
