UT Makassar Promotes Healthy Lifestyle Through Pesta Sehat 2025

As part of its commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and togetherness, Universitas Terbuka (UT) Makassar held the “Pesta Sehat 2025” event through a Fun Walk on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Hundreds of participants from various backgrounds — including students, alumni, lecturers, and the general public — filled the area in front of the UT Makassar Office at the Simpang Lima Roundabout near Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport.

The Director of UT Makassar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Rahim, explained that the event was not only a sports activity but also a means to strengthen social bonds and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining a balance between physical and mental health.

“Through activities like this, we want to instill a healthy lifestyle as an integral part of shared well-being,” he said.

In addition to promoting exercise, the event also served as an opportunity for students — who are accustomed to studying remotely or online — to meet and interact face-to-face, creating a warm and lively atmosphere of togetherness. The cheerful ambiance showed how physical activities can serve as a bridge to strengthen social connections and enhance happiness.

To conclude the event, the committee distributed dozens of exciting door prizes, boosting participants’ enthusiasm and making the occasion even more festive.

Through Pesta Sehat 2025, UT Makassar reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. This event was not only educational and participatory but also a tangible demonstration of the university’s contribution to fostering a society more aware of the importance of maintaining both physical and mental health. In line with global efforts, this initiative aims to promote a better quality of life for all, regardless of age.
