Jambi, 11 May 2025 – 560 Students of Universitas Terbuka Jambi (UT Jambi) graduated in a ceremony at Abadi Convention Center, Jambi. This graduation ceremony held the theme “Rising and Moving: Youth, Education, and Big Dreams of Golden Indonesia 2045.” which reflects the spirit of Jambi youth in giving concrete contributions for the future of the nation.
The graduates are from UT’s four faculties, namely the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences (FHISIP), Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), as well as the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), along with a postgraduate program. They come from regencies and cities along Jambi, signifying the inclusivity of UT.

The process of graduation was led by the Head of the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) of UT, Prof. Dra. Dewi Artati Padmo Putri, M.A., Ph.D., accompanied by the Director of UT Jambi, Rahmaddian, S.E., M.M. and Expert Staff of The Governor of Jambi in Society and Human Resources, Tema Wisman.
In his remarks, Tema Wisman emphasized how UT Jambi graduates not only achieved their academic degrees, but also received new responsibilities as agents of change in knowledge and innovation. He also underlined the importance of multidisciplinary learning in a complex world.
“Education is not merely about the materials, but more on the shift of thinking patterns, becoming more analytic, critical, creative, and open. We await your roles as agents of change moving to generate knowledge-based innovations.” he stated.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dewi Padmo addressed how many graduates of UT Jambi is under 25 years old, signifying the potential of the younger generation as the country’s development agents.
“UT provides opportunity for anyone, including those who can’t afford to access higher education conventionally. The system of open and distance learning provides a more equal access for education.” said Prof. Dewi.
Director of UT Jambi, Rahmaddian, M.M., added that this graduation is part of UT’s commitment in reaching students. “With the tagline of reaching the unreachable, UT explores the horizon, providing higher education for the nation.” he emphasized.

This graduation is not merely an academic ceremony, but also an emphasis on the roles of the younger generation of Jambi as the motor towards Golden Indonesia 2045. UT Jambi graduates are not only given a degree, but also the bravery to have visionary thoughts, inclusive attitude, and concrete actions for the nation. From Jambi, the spirit of “Bangkit daan Bergerak” is aimed for a smarter, fair, and competitive Indonesia.
