SALUT News – Linking 13 SALUTs, UT Serang Expands Their Reach to The Depths of Banten

Serang, July 12, 2025 — Universitas Terbuka (UT) Serang officially signed Cooperation Agreements (PKS) with 13 Universitas Terbuka Service Centers (SALUT) from various regions in Banten. The event took place in Serang on Saturday (July 12, 2025) and marks a strategic step in strengthening the partnership network to increase access to open and distance education in various remote areas.

In his remarks, the Director of UT Serang, Dr. Teguh Prakoso, S.Pd., M.Hum., emphasized that all SALUTs signing the cooperation agreement had undergone a strict validation and verification process before being declared eligible to become official UT partners. This process was carried out carefully to ensure that the quality of educational services is maintained and meets standards.

“This signing is not just a formality, but a form of UT’s seriousness in ensuring that every partner is truly ready to provide the best service to the community,” said Dr. Teguh.

As an extension of the Regional UT, SALUT is one of UT’s spearheads in promoting UT as a world-class State University (PTN), and in delivering direct registration and academic information to the public. Dr. Teguh also emphasized the importance of innovation in marketing strategies, as well as improving adaptive and creative services that meet the needs of the wider community.

“With the flexibility of UT’s learning system, we hope that SALUT partners can continue to develop and provide the best services, including in improving educational facilities and infrastructure,” he said.

The 13 SALUTs present at the signing of this PKS were SALUT Bayah, SALUT Ujungkulon Sumur, SALUT Arya Jaya Santika, SALUT Malingping, SALUT Gunung Kencana, SALUT Cerdas Curug Bitung, SALUT Kabupaten Tangerang, SALUT Alaska Balaraja, SALUT Gajah Barong, SALUT Kresek Kabupaten Tangerang, SALUT Cahaya Harmoni Cijaku, SALUT Cikal Development, and SALUT KSPN Nikomas.

This PKS signing is an important milestone in building synergy between UT and local partners to expand access to quality, flexible, and inclusive higher education, and to extend the reach of educational services, especially in areas that have not been optimally reached so far.

With an increasingly strong partnership network, UT Serang is optimistic that it can bring educational benefits to more remote areas in Banten and its surroundings – opening wider opportunities for studying anywhere and anytime. Thus, it is hoped that more people in Banten will receive quality and affordable higher education without limits.
