UT Commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day 2024, Together With Pancasila, We Achieve Golden Indonesia

Universitas Terbuka (UT) held a ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day, which fell on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. The solemn event took place at the Universitas Terbuka Convention Center (UTCC) courtyard at UT’s central campus in South Tangerang and was attended by university leaders, lecturers, and staff. This moment represents UT’s concrete effort to reinforce its commitment to instill the noble values of Pancasila among all members of the academic community and to remember the nation’s struggle in overcoming the September 30 Movement (G30S/PKI) that occurred on September 30, 1965.

Carrying the theme “Together with Pancasila, We Achieve Golden Indonesia,” the ceremony served as a reminder and hope for the Indonesian nation to maintain unity and build a brighter future. During the event, the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Business at UT, Rahmat Budiman, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., acted as the Ceremony Leader. He also read the Pledge, stating that since the proclamation of Indonesia’s independence on August 17, 1945, various attempts to destabilize the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) have emerged from both domestic and foreign threats. These incidents occurred due to negligence and lack of vigilance against efforts to overthrow Pancasila as the nation’s ideology.

Through this ceremony, UT hopes to awaken a sense of unity to continue defending and practicing the values of Pancasila. As a source of strength, Pancasila must remain a guiding principle in maintaining unity, upholding truth, and safeguarding the integrity of NKRI. This moment also symbolizes UT’s determination to contribute to realizing the vision of a Golden Indonesia by 2045.
