Entrepreneurship Seminar at UT Majene Inspires Students to Start Their Own Businesses

A fresh and lively atmosphere filled Ruang Tutorial 2 UT Majene on 27–28 November 2025. Over two days, students gathered with a shared goal: to find the confidence to start their own businesses. The Academic Seminar on Entrepreneurship became more than a routine academic event—it offered students a chance to see their future with greater optimism and independence.

The event was officially opened at 09:00 WITA by the Director of UT Majene, Devi Ayuni, S.E., M.Si. In her remarks, she emphasized the need for young people to stay adaptable and responsive to rapid technological change. She encouraged students not just to build entrepreneurial spirit but also to recognize opportunities through digital platforms—aligning with the goals of economic inclusion and innovation (SDG 8 & SDG 9).

UT’s commitment to strengthening student competencies was reflected in the presence of key leaders, including the Learning and Examination Manager, Fitriadi Nurdin, S.Kom., M.M.Si.; Marketing and Registration Manager, Dr. Syahrinullah, S.E., M.M.; and Head of Administrative Affairs, Surahmansyah, S.IP. Their attendance reinforced UT’s mission to prepare graduates who are not only ready for the workforce but also capable of creating jobs.

To enrich the practical aspect, UT Majene invited Muh. Arman Yamin Pagala, SP., MP., an academic and practitioner experienced in local product development. He guided students to read market trends, identify hidden business opportunities, and understand effective marketing strategies in a competitive global era. His approach felt more like mentorship than formal instruction—opening students’ eyes to the possibilities around them.

A key highlight was the hands-on session where participants developed real business proposals. Many who initially felt unsure gained confidence as they learned to turn ideas into clear, realistic plans. Students were encouraged to use digital tools—social media and e-commerce—to expand their market reach. This directly supports UT’s vision of strengthening digital literacy as part of SDG 4 (Quality Education).

By the end of the seminar, students left with renewed enthusiasm and practical skills to take their first steps as young entrepreneurs. For UT Majene, this event was more than a seminar—it was an investment in nurturing a generation that is independent, innovative, and ready to face future challenges.
