South Tangerang, August 7, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) held the “2025 Joint Aerobic Extravaganza and Inter-Unit Group Aerobic Competition” on the grounds of the Universitas Terbuka Convention Center (UTCC) on Thursday (August 7, 2025). This lively event, which began at 7:00 AM WIB, was part of the celebration for UT’s 41st Dies Natalis, carrying the theme “United We Are Strong, Active We Are Healthy.”
The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Finance, Resources, and General Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, S.E., M.Si., who was representing the UT Rector. The ceremony was attended by university leaders, faculty, staff, and UT partners. In his speech, Prof. Ali emphasized the importance of building a healthy, cohesive, and mutually supportive work culture at UT as the foundation for impactful education.

The atmosphere became even more vibrant during the inter-unit aerobic competition at UT Central, showcasing teamwork, creativity, and sportsmanship. More than just entertainment, the event served as a campaign for a healthy and active lifestyle, aligning with UT’s values as an institution that upholds the quality of life for its employees.
Fishing Competition to Follow
Adding to the festivities, UT also held a symbolic release of 1 ton of tilapia fish to mark the start of a fishing competition to be held on August 21, 2025. The fish were released into the campus pond by Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, S.E., M.Si., representing the Rector, along with deans, bank partners, and the committee of UT’s 41st Dies Natalis. This activity further strengthened the values of togetherness and collaboration among different units and with external partners.

Furthermore, a day before the competition, UT will also release 1 ton of common carp to add to the challenge and appeal of the event. On the day of the competition, participants will be greeted with the release of “super fish” and “ribboned fish” as the main attractions, which will also determine special prizes for lucky participants.
Commitment to SDGs
As part of its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this activity supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the promotion of an active lifestyle, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the creation of a holistically healthy academic community, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the synergy between UT and its partners in every celebration and program development. UT believes that impactful education must start from a healthy and collaborative work ecosystem.
UT’s 41st Dies Natalis this year carries the grand theme “Innovation Without Limits, Realizing Quality Education,” in line with UT’s commitment as a digital-based state university that continues to foster innovation in various areas, including the development of human resources who are physically and mentally healthy.
