South Tangerang, July 21, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) once again demonstrated its commitment to professional, quality, and integrity-driven personnel management through the Oath and Pledge Taking Ceremony for Civil Servants (PNS). This hybrid event was held both offline at the Quality Building Hall, UT Central Office, South Tangerang, and online via Zoom Meeting, with simultaneous participation from Regional UTs across various parts of Indonesia.

A total of 114 UT employees, from both the central and regional offices, solemnly participated in the oath-taking ceremony. In their oath, the civil servants declared their loyalty to Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and the nation, committing to perform their duties with honesty, order, meticulousness, and full dedication for the sake of the nation and state.

UT Rector, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A., was present to deliver remarks and guidance to the newly sworn-in civil servants. In his address, Dr. Mohamad Yunus congratulated and appreciated their resilience in enduring the long process to officially be appointed as civil servants.
“Your journey and struggle to reach this point were not easy. Therefore, always be grateful, act honestly, improve your competence, and maintain integrity. Because you are the future leaders of UT,” stated Dr. Mohamad Yunus.
The civil servant oath and pledge-taking ceremony was also attended by leaders of various work units within UT, both in person and online. The presence of direct supervisors symbolized moral support and served as a reminder of their important role in guiding, directing, and setting an example for civil servants in their respective units to become quality apparatus.

More than just a ceremony, this oath-taking marks a significant milestone, affirming that being a civil servant is not just about status, but about integrity, competence, and tangible contribution to public service and higher education. UT, as a pioneer in open and distance higher education (PTJJ), places human resources as the main pillar in realizing inclusive, adaptive, and broadly impactful educational services for the Indonesian community.
