UT Daerah News – UT Banjarmasin Achieved A Prestigious Achievement from the Regent of Tabalong

Banjarmasin, June 5, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) Banjarmasin has once again achieved a proud accomplishment. This time, UT Banjarmasin was awarded as the Best Partner by the Regent of Tabalong during the inauguration of the Public Local Broadcasting Institution (LPPL) building in Tabalong Regency. This award is an appreciation for UT’s tangible contributions in supporting the dissemination of higher education information through synergy with Tabalong TV and Radio. 

Tabalong TV is now broadcasting via satellite, reaching wider areas beyond South Kalimantan, such as West Nusa Tenggara. In this context, UT Banjarmasin plays a crucial role as an agent of information transformation and human resource quality improvement through educational and inspiring broadcasts. 

During the lively ceremony, attended by the Regent of Tabalong, the Vice Regent, the Regional Secretary of Tabalong Regency, all Heads of Regional Work Units (SKPD), PT Adaro Indonesia, and other invited guests, the award was presented as part of the new LPPL building’s inauguration event. The series of activities began with an opening dance, prayer recitation, a report from the Acting Head of the Communication and Informatics Agency, the Regent’s speech, the award presentation to the best partners, and a tour of the LPPL building’s various facilities. 

Upon receiving the award as the best partner, the Director of UT Banjarmasin, Ir. H.M. Priono, M.Si., CPR, CCM, expressed his gratitude for this recognition: 

“This is not just an award, but a form of trust in UT Banjarmasin’s role in socializing the importance of pursuing higher education as a key to improving the quality of human resources. This award motivates UT Banjarmasin to continue synergizing, especially in improving the quality of information services for students and the community in the Tabalong area and its surroundings.” 

He also hoped that with the new building facilities, Tabalong TV/Radio services could expand their reach and provide higher quality broadcasts with a positive impact on the public. 

As a state university promoting a distance education system, UT Banjarmasin continues to prove itself as a strategic partner for local governments. This partnership extends beyond academics to include regional development through education and public information collaboration.
