Bina Budaya Antarbangsa (BINAR) is the first International Summer Camp organized by UT. As an Open and Distance Learning University (PTTJJ) aspiring to achieve World Class University (WCU) status, UT organizes BINAR to enhance internationalization and international partnership.

This time held in Yogyakarta, BINAR enters its second year with a broader reach than the previous year. BINAR 2025 has attracted 115 international applicants from 27 institutions across 22 countries, as well as 23 UT Yogyakarta students who will accompany the on-site activities. This demonstrates a significantly increased enthusiasm for BINAR 2025.

On this occasion, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Mr. Rahmat Budiman, M.Hum., Ph.D., delivered his welcoming remarks at the BINAR 2025 Welcoming Ceremony. He emphasized the importance of BINAR as a platform for learning, cultural exchange, and international collaboration, both in the online and on-site phases. He expressed his hope that this program would not only broaden horizons, but also contribute to the advancement of international cooperation in higher education.
The BINAR 2025 Welcoming Ceremony also invited Emil F. Ubaldo Ph.D., from Central Luzon State University, to deliver remarks from a partner institution. He expressed his gratitude for the organization of BINAR, which has provided valuable experiences for his students, in terms of culture, language, and international student networking. He wished for the smooth and successful implementation of BINAR 2025 for all participants and organizers.
At this event, Nur Mawarlina, or familiarly known as Lina from Open University Malaysia, as a BINAR 2024 alumna, shared her testimonial after participating in the program. BINAR 2024 was a valuable experience that provided new perspectives on Indonesian culture. According to Lina, BINAR is not just an International Summer Camp program; it is an opportunity to grow and create memories that will last a lifetime. Finally, she expressed her gratitude to UT for organizing the BINAR 2024 program.

Shen Yuqi from Shanghai Open University also shared an alumna testimonial from 2024 at the BINAR 2025 Welcoming Ceremony. BINAR 2024 provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives and cultures with international students. Additionally, skills such as communication, efficiency, and teamwork were also trained through a series of activities carried out during BINAR 2024. Yuqi hoped that the BINAR 2025 activities could run even better than the previous year.
The event continued with a briefing regarding the technical aspects of the BINAR 2025 program implementation. This included activities in the online phase, technical selection criteria for students who will participate in the on-site phase, and technical details of the on-site phase activities.
With the conclusion of the BINAR 2025 Welcoming Ceremony, it is hoped that the program can continue to enhance UT’s reputation in the international arena and develop UT’s partnerships with overseas institutions. The event concluded with closing remarks by the Head of LPPM, Mrs. Dewi Artati Padmo Putri, Ph.D., who expressed her hope for the smooth implementation of the BINAR 2025 program.
