This rebranding step is packaged in the tagline “You Are Very Valuable, Open and Read, from UT for Your Future!” The Rector of UT, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A., said, “Teaching material packaging is the first impression students receive of UT’s physical learning materials. We want to ensure that every student feels valued and enthusiastic about every step of their academic journey at UT,” he said. Not only that, Mohamad Yunus also said that the presence of this rebranding packaging is real evidence of UT’s innovation after more than 40 years of working in the Indonesian education world.
Full support for this innovation also came from UT’s strategic partners, one of which is the Group of Manufacture Director of Kompas Gramedia, Hari Susanto Surjotedjo. Hari Susanto expressed his highest appreciation to UT for the cooperation that has been established. “We from PT. Penjalindo would like to thank Universitas Terbuka for the cooperation that has been going on with the Kompas Gramedia Group. Hopefully, as the days go by and as we go here, our cooperation will become even wider,” he added. Not only about hope, Hari also expressed his admiration for the packaging design which he considered very innovative and could be used in various sizes. “So this is a very innovative and very efficient design in the distribution process because for Universitas Terbuka itself it will reduce the risk of unnecessary inventory,” he said.
The Head of the UT Teaching Materials Service Center, Arief Rahman Susila, S.E., M.Si., conveyed the positive vibes of the UT teaching material packaging rebranding:
- UT teaching material packaging is more exclusive and elegant, while still considering quality and functionality aspects.
- Increased pride and feeling valued for UT students.
- Provide enthusiasm and a memorable learning experience for students.
- Increase students’ desire to show their pride in studying at UT, by sharing their stories with friends, family and the community both orally and through their social media channels.
Arief Rahman Susila also said that the improvement in packaging quality is also followed by optimization of the distribution system. “We continue to invest in technology and logistics systems to ensure students have access to learning materials without obstacles,” he said. Arief Rahman also said that the efficiency of teaching material distribution is the backbone of distance education, and what is equally important is ensuring that teaching materials reach students on time and in prime condition.
With more than 671 thousand students as recipients of UT teaching material packages, this rebranding is an effective strategy to improve UT’s image as a modern and innovative distance education institution. The more exclusive and elegant appearance of the teaching material packaging, as well as an optimal distribution system, is expected to increase UT’s existence, so that UT is increasingly known and becomes the main choice for anyone who wants to achieve quality higher education without limits.
“We want to use teaching material packaging as a means to communicate UT’s values and advantages,” added the Rector of UT, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A., “This is part of our effort to expand access to quality higher education for the Indonesian people.”
