Islamabad, Pakistan – October 17, 2024 – The 37th Annual Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) Conference concluded today in Islamabad, with a strong focus on digital transformation, innovative practices, and the future of distance education. The day’s program kicked off with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. His speech, titled “Shaping the Future: Digital Transformation in Higher Education: Leveraging Novel Technologies to Transform Learning and Assessment” explored how emerging technologies are revolutionizing learning and assessment in the digital age. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti, Rector of Virtual University of Pakistan.
As the conference neared its close, Dr. Zahid Majeed, Conference Coordinator, presented the Conference Recommendations. - Gold Medal: Arshad Taseen from Bishop’s University, Canada
- 1st Silver Medals: Shawira Abu Bakar, Nooni Ezdiani Yasin, and their team from Open University Malaysia
- 2nd Silver Medals: Maximus Gorky Sembiring and Mochamad Priono from Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia
