Approaching its 40th anniversary, Universitas Terbuka (UT) continues to enhance its services and higher education quality. In alignment with government mandates, UT is committed to broadening access to higher education for all. This mission necessitates collaboration with various partners and stakeholders.
Widely recognized as a pioneer in Open and Distance Learning (ODL), UT’s credibility and capabilities are respected nationally and internationally. This has led to multiple partnerships, evidenced by the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with various institutions.
On July 29, 2024, during the Academic Seminar for the second graduation period of the 2023/2024 academic year, UT and its partners signed several MoUs and MoA at the Universitas Terbuka Convention Center (UTCC) in South Tangerang. This event was attended by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., UT’s vice rectors, deans, and other leadership, alongside representatives from partner institutions.
The key agreements signed during this event include:
1. MoU between UT and the Manggarai Regency Government: Covering education, research, and community service, signed by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat and Manggarai Regent Herybertus G.L Nabit, S.E., M.A.
2. MoU between UT and the East Belitung Regency Government: Focused on education, research, and community service, signed by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat and East Belitung Regent Drs. Burhanudin.
3. MoA between UT Pangkal Pinang and the East Belitung Human Resources Development Agency: Signed by UT Pangkal Pinang Director Ir. Ida Zubaidah, M.A., Ed.D., and Agency Head Hendri Yani, S.IP., M.Ids, M.Ec.Dev.
4. MoU between UT and the Bener Meriah Regency Government: Covering education, teaching, and human resources, signed by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat and BPKPA Head Marwan, S.E., M.M.
5. MoU between UT and Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) of West Kalimantan: Focused on education, teaching, research, and HR development, signed by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat and UNU Rector Dr. Rachmat Sahputra, M.Si.
6. MoU between UT and Bina Mandiri University (UBN) Gorontalo: Covering education, research, and community service, signed by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat and UBN Rector Dr. Titin Dunggio, M.Si., M.Kes.
Additional agreements included MoUs with:
– PT. Partner Impian Milenial (Schoters) & Ruang Raya Indonesia (Ruangguru): Covering promotion and scholarships, signed by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat, Schoters CEO Radyum Ikono, and Ruangguru SVP Arman Wiratmoko.
– Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH): Focused on education, teaching, research, community service, promotion, and development, signed by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat and IOH Director & Chief Commercial Officer Ritesh Kumar Singh.
These signings were followed by the exchange of tokens and a group photo. IOH’s Director & Chief Commercial Officer Ritesh Kumar Singh expressed pride and high appreciation for UT’s efforts in providing extensive educational access, particularly for those with limited opportunities. Similarly, Marwan, S.E., M.M., Head of BPKPA, and Herybertus G.L Nabit, Regent of Manggarai, praised UT for its collaboration and contribution to human resource development in their regions.
East Belitung Regent Drs. Burhanudin, also a graduate of UT, thanked UT for its partnership and highlighted UT’s flexibility in offering online learning opportunities.
UT’s serious commitment to enhancing education quality is evident in these collaborations. As UT approaches its 40th anniversary, it continues to serve the nation by producing highly qualified graduates who can compete globally.
