“Harmony Melodies of Economics and Business Faculty Student Making Achievement in Prestigious Competition” 

Tangerang Selatan, 28/01/2024 – A student from Universitas Terbuka Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) achieved remarkable success in singing arts. Through her melodious voice, Ni Komang Devi Widiasari, a Management undergraduate student from UT Denpasar, secured an admirable feat. She settled the 3rd place in the Solo Vocal category at the “National Arts and Culture Competition – Student Senate of Universitas Pancasila,” held at Universitas Pancasila, Jakarta, from September to November 2023. Also, she attained the 3rd Honorable Mention in the Adult category of the “Singing Competition” during the “Magnificent Bali” Grand Opening at Living World Denpasar in December 2023. 

Ni Komang Devi Widiasari, commonly known as Devi, is a Management student at UT and the third child of Mr. I Wayan Oka Arianta and Mrs. Ni Kadek Sri Widiani. Remarkably, Devi is also a working professional, holding a position in Internal Control Operation, and manages an online business. 

Regarding her choice to study at UT, Devi expressed, “Being a student at Universitas Terbuka is a perfect solution due to my busy work schedule, there is still an opportunity to pursue higher education through UT.” She added, “In my opinion, UT is very innovative by offering a true flexibility that may not be offered in other universities. The learning schedule at UT is so flexible.” Devi further elaborated, “With UT flexible learning system, it becomes easier to manage my time, balancing work, studying, pursuing my hobby of singing, and dedicating spare time to my online business,” she said. 

As a new student, Ni Komang Devi is proud to be part of Universitas Terbuka. Aside from the flexibility in terms of time and location, UT strongly supports and facilitates her to get beyond not only in her primary role as a student but also in her passion for singing. In the interview, Devi shared tips on how to study at Universitas Terbuka while excelling in other fields, “My tip is that as students, we must be smart in managing our time. While our main objective is to learn course materials, there are times when we need to practice things which we are passionate about, like my interest in vocal arts. So, I strive to align my hobby and study. Only at UT, students can study according to their own style,” she emphasized. 

The achievements of Ni Komang Devi Widiasari are a concrete proof that, even in the middle of a hectic schedule, students are still able to excel in their areas of interest. She encourages all UT students, “Do the Best, Be the Best, Make Impossible Be Possible.”
