“Collaboration Supporting Higher Education Governance Modernization: UT and ULM Share Digital Insights”

On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, the Rasamala Room at UT’s Wisma II witnessed an important gathering. Universitas Terbuka (UT), known for its pioneering innovations in open and distance education, hosted a knowledge-sharing session with Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM). The purpose of this event was to exchange insights on modernizing university governance through digital transformation.

Modernizing governance is key to improving higher education quality in Indonesia, and UT and ULM have come together to collaborate in this endeavor. Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., Rector of UT, warmly welcomed the ULM team, reaffirming UT’s commitment to supporting educational development in the country.

Dr. Ir. Arief RM Akbar, M.Si., IPU, Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs at ULM, expressed gratitude for this opportunity. He explained that the primary goal of this visit was to share knowledge and deepen the understanding of modern university governance, including the government procurement system applied at UT.

The event was also attended by several university leaders, including Vice Rectors II, III, IV, the Head of the Center for Learning and Information Guidance (PBBI), the Director of the Directorate of Academic and General Management (DMAU), and the Advisor to the Vice Rector IV.

As part of its digital transformation, UT has developed various tools and support systems, such as the SIPPP (Financial Planning, Implementation, and Accountability Information System) and the Smart Procurement Management Information System (ProMISe) application. These initiatives represent concrete efforts to establish a new and efficient work culture.

The collaboration between UT and ULM in this knowledge exchange is a positive step toward modernizing higher education in Indonesia. By joining forces, universities can become pioneers in bringing about positive changes in the field of education.
