Anadolu University and Universitas Terbuka Agree to Extend Cooperation at the AAOU 2023 Event in Istanbul

Killing two birds with one stone. This proverb represents the efforts of the Universitas Terbuka (UT), which has successfully extended cooperation with Anadolu University amidst the crowded agenda of organizing the 36th Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) Annual Conference 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey. Prof. Dr. Fuat Erdal, Rector of Anadolu University, warmly welcomed the good initiative proposed by Universitas Terbuka to prolong the cooperation between the two universities. He also said that UT is an important partner for Anadolu University in the Asian region.

In his remarks, the Rector of the Universitas Terbuka said that the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Anadolu University (AU) is important for UT because AU is a large university in Turkey that runs a dual-mode system (face-to-face and distance education). In addition, AU is famous for its numerous achievements and large number of students. These accomplishments provide valuable examples for UT to learn from. This collaboration is also vital for UT in expanding international cooperation, as encouraged by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia. After delivering speeches from both parties, the event proceeded with the signing of the memorandum of understanding witnessed by each representative. The event was closed with a photo session and an exchange of mementos.
