Universitas Terbuka (UT) Majene held an official meeting with the Central Mamuju Regency Government at the office of the Regional Secretary to discuss expanding access to higher education for civil servants (ASN) through UT’s flexible distance learning system. The meeting, held on February 26, 2026, followed up on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both institutions and was attended by UT Majene Director Devi Ayuni and her management team, who were received by Regional Secretary Lita Febriani and Head of BKPSDM Hasanuddin Wahid. During the discussion, UT Majene presented its model for improving civil servant capacity through flexible higher education programs that allow ASN to continue their professional duties while pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies. As an initial step in the collaboration, four civil servants from Central Mamuju will enroll in master’s programs at UT Majene, supported by a shared funding scheme between the university and the local government. The local government also proposed opening study programs aligned with regional development needs, such as agriculture, agribusiness, fisheries, management, accounting, and health. This partnership reflects UT’s commitment to bringing accessible higher education closer to communities while supporting regional human resource development and contributing to the achievement of SDGs related to quality education, decent work, and partnerships for development.
