Universitas Terbuka (UT) held an online webinar titled “Using Trinka AI to Optimize the Quality of Academic Writing” on February 24, 2026, attended by more than 135 participants including lecturers, researchers, students, and academic staff from UT and partner institutions. The event was opened by Dr. Sofjan Aripin, Head of UT’s Center for Library and Archives, who highlighted the importance of utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support academic quality and adapt to the ongoing digital transformation in higher education. He emphasized that tools like Trinka AI can help improve the structure, accuracy, and international publication standards of scholarly writing while strengthening digital and information literacy among the academic community.
Before the main session, Library Manager Kani, S.Kom., M.Kom., introduced UT’s Virtual Reading Room and expanded e-resources integrated into the Online Tutorial (Tuton) system, enabling students and lecturers to access thousands of digital learning materials anytime and anywhere. The main presentation was delivered by Nandana from PT Jasatamaraya Buana, who demonstrated Trinka AI’s features, including academic grammar checking, sentence clarity improvements, technical terminology consistency, and journal-standard writing recommendations. The webinar also featured an interactive discussion on the ethical use of AI in academia, emphasizing that AI should serve as an assistive tool rather than replace human creativity and critical thinking. The two-hour session reinforced UT’s commitment to digital innovation and academic development while supporting the goals of quality education, innovation, and reducing educational gaps.
