South Tangerang, July 15, 2025 – Universitas Terbuka (UT) once again affirmed its commitment to ensuring the quality of digital-based higher education by holding a Field Assessment for the Bachelor’s (S1) Information Systems Study Program by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Informatics and Computers (LAM INFOKOM). This two-day event took place from July 14–15, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UT.
This field assessment is a crucial part of UT’s ongoing efforts to deliver world-class education that remains inclusive and affordable. The opening ceremony was held concurrently with the assessment of the S1 Agribusiness Study Program by BAN-PT and was officially opened by UT Rector, Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S., M.A. Also in attendance were the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, the Dean and Vice Dean of FST, the Secretary of the Board of Trustees (MWA), Heads of Institutions, Heads of Centers, Study Program Heads, and all lecturers and academic staff from both study programs.

The assessment team from LAM INFOKOM consisted of Prof. Paulus Insap Santosa, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, and Prof. Dr. Kusrini, M.Kom. Throughout the assessment, the assessors evaluated academic documents, governance, curriculum, human resources, and supporting learning facilities. They also engaged in discussions with study program managers, lecturers, and academic staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of the internal quality assurance system within the study program. In addition, visits were made to various excellent supporting units at UT, such as the Multimedia Learning Material Production Center (P2BAM), to assess the consistency of applying the internal quality assurance system in supporting the distance learning process.

This field assessment activity represents a strategic step for UT in ensuring the provision of quality and measurable education, while also being part of its commitment to a transparent and sustainable national accreditation system.
From this field assessment, UT is optimistic that the S1 Information Systems Study Program will achieve the best accreditation results. Moreover, this moment serves as concrete proof that UT is serious about developing excellent study programs based on academic quality, professional governance, and distance education services that are equivalent to, and even ready to compete globally. UT’s commitment is not just about opening access, but about ensuring quality as the fundamental foundation in shaping an impactful digital generation.
