Tuesday, May 20, 2025 – The Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), the women’s organization of Universitas Terbuka (UT) Central, hosted a Household Business Financial Management Seminar with the theme “Financially Smart for Homemakers: Managing and Developing Small Businesses.” Held at the Multipurpose Building of UT Central, the event was attended by approximately 90 participants, including DWP UT board members and members, female employees, and wives of UT employees.
This seminar was a collaboration between the Education and Training Division and the Economy and Women Empowerment Division of DWP UT. The head of the organizing committee, Ms. Sinta Nurhidayati, S.Pd., expressed appreciation for the hard work of the committee in making the event a success from the planning to the implementation stage.


The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Finance, Resources, and General Affairs at UT, Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, S.E., M.Si. Also present were DWP UT Chairs from various regions, including UT Medan, UT Bogor, and UT Aceh, showing support and synergy between regions.
Three competent speakers were featured in this seminar:
- Is Eka Herawati, S.P., M.M. – Introduced basic concepts and potential of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
- Dra. Andi Sylvana, M.Si. – Provided strategies for effective financial management for small businesses.
- Erni Rahman, S.Pd., M.M. – Shared motivation and inspiration for success in developing MSMEs.
Through this seminar, DWP UT encouraged women, especially homemakers, to become more financially literate, economically independent, and courageous in starting businesses. As a follow-up, DWP UT will present a Business Clinic and participate in Community Engagement (PkM) activities to expand its beneficial impact.
This activity aligns with DWP UT’s commitment to supporting the improvement of family and community welfare through women’s empowerment in economic, social, and cultural fields.
