Wonderful Achievement! UT The Best in Banten, Achieving Awards for Contributive Tax 2023

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Aston Serang Hotel & Convention Center, a Public Consultation Forum and Stakeholder Appreciation event was held by the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of Banten. The event aimed to honor taxpayers who have made significant contributions toward achieving tax revenue targets and compliance throughout the Banten Province.

The event was opened by Cucu Supriatna, Head of the Regional Office of DJP Banten, who, in his speech, expressed hope for increased compliance in fulfilling tax obligations, both local and national. He emphasized that taxes are the backbone of state revenue, and collaboration between the government and taxpayers is crucial to creating a stronger tax system.

On this occasion, Universitas Terbuka (UT) was proud to be the only university to receive the “Contributive Taxpayer” award for 2023. This recognition was given by the Banten Regional Tax Office, through the Pondok Aren Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama). This achievement reflects UT’s commitment to fulfilling its tax obligations correctly and its dedication to financial accountability.

Dr. Teguh Prakoso, S.Pd., M.Hum., Director of UT Serang, attended the event to receive the award on behalf of the Rector of UT. The award was presented by the Head of the DJP Banten Regional Office, Cucu Supriatna, accompanied by the Head of KPP Pratama Pondok Aren, Henny Setyawati. This award not only represents recognition but also demonstrates that UT’s performance as a State-Owned Legal Entity University (PTN BH) is in line with the principles of accountability required in financial management and tax obligations, while strengthening UT’s position as a responsible educational institution.

With this success, UT hopes to set an example for other institutions in complying with tax obligations and inspire greater awareness of the importance of contributing to national development through tax payments.
