Strategic Collaboration, Central Java Archives and Library Agency Synergize with FHISIP UT for Knowledge Access

Semarang, Wednesday, October 23, 2024 — A contract signing ceremony was held at the Office of the Archives and Library Agency of Central Java in Semarang between the Central Java Archives and Library Agency and the Faculty of Law, Social, and Political Sciences at Universitas Terbuka. The event was officially opened by the Head of the Central Java Archives and Library Agency, Mr. De Francisco Da Silva Tavares, S.P., M.Si. 

The signing ceremony was attended by various stakeholders supporting the advancement of archives and library management in Central Java, including representatives from: 

– Vocational School of Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) 

– Faculty of Cultural Sciences of UGM 

– Vocational School of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Semarang 

– Faculty of Cultural Sciences of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) 

– Library Science Undergraduate Program of the Faculty of Information Technology of Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW), Salatiga 

– UIN Salatiga 

– Pura Mangkunegaran 

This collaboration aims to strengthen synergies in the development of education, training, and management of archives and libraries in Central Java Province. The partnership between government agencies and educational institutions is expected to positively contribute to improving human resource quality in the field of archives and libraries. 

The event proceeded smoothly and solemnly. In his remarks, Mr. De Francisco Da Silva Tavares expressed his hope that this partnership would serve as a constructive first step in enhancing the quality of archival and library services and supporting the implementation of digitalization programs in the public sector.  

With the signing of this agreement, it is expected that a close and mutually beneficial relationship will be established between the Central Java Archives and Library Agency and the Faculty of Law, Social, and Political Sciences of Universitas Terbuka, as well as other institutions in attendance.
