Bina Budaya antar Bangsa (BINAR) is the first INTERNATIONAL SUMMER CAMP Program organized by Universitas Terbuka (UT). Aligning with UT’s vision as an Online Distance Learning Institution with World-Class quality, UT continues to enhance the quality of education and its reputable international relevance to become a World Class University (WCU). Through BINAR 2024, the message to all participants and stakeholders is various passions in context: 1) International Exposure and International Program and 2) the enhancement of collaboration.
On Monday, July 15, 2024, the Welcoming Ceremony BINAR 2024 was held for all participants and other delegations from their respective institutions. This agenda became UT’s platform to introduce international students and to brief some explanations regarding the program.

During the agenda, the Vice-Rector of Research, Innovation, Partnership, and Business at UT, Rahmat Budiman, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D. delivered his report. He conveyed that the BINAR 2024 Program has attracted 50 international participants from 7 countries, namely, Bangladesh, China, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam, as follows:

This unique program offered a combination of short courses to enhance Cross-Cultural Understanding and Global Partnership among global students. This activity was organized both online and offline to ensure the participants would get a deep understanding related to the preparation for being in a global community.
The program was separated into 2 phases:
Online Phase: from 15-28 July 2024, 50 participants will join in a set of comprehensive online learning, which is designed to provide the language, culture, and sociological understanding of Indonesia thoroughly.
On-Site Phase: The 10 best participants from the online selection will be invited to experience and learn the cultural diversity and local wisdom of Indonesians in person in Jakarta and Bali.

Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., the Rector of UT expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all BINAR 2024 participants. He stated, “Dear participants, both from international Institutions and Universitas Terbuka, we hope this program will give you a deep understanding related to Cross-Cultural Understanding and supporting global citizenship growth. May this journey broaden the knowledge and perspective in a beneficial way for self-improvement and academics. To leaders and institution delegations, we truly hope, BINAR 2024 will strengthen our partnerships and connect to collaboration in the future. Let us work toward the bright advancement of education,” he hoped.
BINAR 2024 Program will become a valuable platform and momentum for UT to be able to confirm its existence in education and partnership which has reached international scope.
