To achieve IKU: UT organize Laporkerma Socialization and Diktrisitek Award

Every year, Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset. Dan Teknologi (Ditjen Diktiristek) always evaluates the accomplishment activities and public relation and partnership performance as well as giving an award for the public relation and partnership achievement of public universities (PTN), Private collage (PTS), and LLDikti. To prepare joining the competition of Diktiristek Public Relations Award 2024, Universitas Terbuka (UT) organized a LAPORKERMA Socialization, ‘Anugerah Kerja Sama Diktirsitek’ (AKD), and ‘Anugerah Humas Diktiristek’ (AHD) conducted on February 7, 2024, in Rasamala Room Wisma II, Universitas Terbuka (UT).

Starting with a welcoming speech from the Marketing and Partnership Directorate of Universitas Terbuka, Mr. Ali Tarigan, S.E., conveyed that UT continues committing to be better through various competition achievements. He stated, since it was officially inaugurated to be PTN-BH, UT has faced new challenging situation especially to win in the competition of Anugerah Diktiristek since the competitors had gained PTN-BH status earlier. Therefore, UT organized that activity inviting the experts from Kemdikbudristek. This can improve the service to the students in general and better preparation to achieve the awards contested in PTN-BH category.

The event then opened with explanation by the Chairman of the Coordinator of Public Relations and Cooperation of the Secretariat of Ditjen Dikti, Mr. Yayat Hendrayana, S.S., M.Si. In his statement, he delivered some important points related to the potential efforts for UT to meet the criteria in Key Performance Indicators or ‘Indikator Kinerja Utama’ (IKU) of Higher Education. He also mentioned some of UT achievements in Public Relation and others in 2021 and 2022. Namely, achieving the first place of website management, and the third place of press conference evaluations in PTN-BLU competition scope. These could be the initial assets that can be optimized to compete and obtain the achievement in PTN-BH category.

He emphasized an interesting point during the evaluation, suggesting that UT should identify and highlight its strengths and uniqueness that have a real impact, enabling it to compete in specific categories. Particularly in the category or sub-category of Public Relations and Cooperation management, compelling presentations supported by data would leave an impression on the examiners.

In concluding his presentation, Mr. Yayat emphasized that every university has an equal opportunity to achieve the best scores. To achieve the target of achieving excellence in the PTN-BH category, UT must work harder and improve its quality in various fields.

Next, the second presentation was delivered by Mr. Firman Hidayat, S.S., M.Si., as the Sub-Coordinator of Cooperation at the Secretariat of Ditjen Dikti. In his presentation, he provided numerous statistical data related to achievements and improvements that can be made to attain success, based on the measurement data of IKU-6 of Higher Education in 2023. He then continued to emphasize that Reporting on the Cooperation of Higher Education is an obligation based on the Ministerial Regulation No.14 Paragraph 3 of 2014 concerning Higher Education Cooperation. Failure to report cooperation can result in warnings to the related Higher Education Institution. This is done to monitor various forms of cooperation with each partner, ensuring that the cooperation stays within the appropriate boundaries. He conveyed that based on data recorded from 2014 to 2023, the most ordinary form of cooperation conducted by higher education institutions is in the form of MoU or Memoranda of Understanding and ceremonial activities. However, he also reminded that implementing the cooperation is crucial, not just conducting ceremonies. Both domestic and international collaborations should reflect high-quality institutions. Moreover, the cooperation that will be evaluated in IKU-6 is implementation-based and not just ceremonial cooperation.

He also stated that the measure of success for universities is through the 8 Main Performance Indicators, making it the main focus for every university under the Ministry. Therefore, UT is expected to advance in achieving good results and reach the top of the IKU PTN-BH League rankings as a newcomer that deserves attention, especially in IKU-6.

The event concluded with a Q&A session between the speakers and the audience, followed by a group photo session with all participants attending the event.
