After receiving numerous awards from various institutions for its excellent financial management, Universitas Terbuka (UT) has once again achieved the top position as the Best in Budget Performance in the category of State Universities with the BLU Financial Management Principles.
With an outstanding score of 96.60%, UT has earned the title of “Very Good” in Budget Performance. Managing a budget exceeding Rp1.799 trillion is no easy task, as UT must strive to achieve the highest score in the Budget Performance Evaluation (EKA), which measures the quality of outcomes, while also excelling in the Performance Indicators of Budget Implementation (IKPA), which assesses the quality of processes.
The prestigious award was presented directly by Nadiem Anwar Makarim, B.A., M.B.A., the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. UT’s Rector, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., was present to receive the award during the Award Ceremony for the Best Implementation of SAKIP (Government Performance Accountability System), Budget Performance, and Public Information Transparency 2022. The ceremony took place on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Insan Pendidikan Berprestasi Plaza, located in the Lobby of Building A of the Kemendikbudristek office.
Nadiem Anwar Makarim expressed his appreciation and awarded the first-place accolade only to the units within the Kemendikbudristek (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology) environment that consistently delivers outstanding performance in executing accountable government financial management. He also commended UT for its excellent performance in implementing the Government Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) and managing the budget in 2022.
Suharti, the Secretary-General of Kemendikbudristek, emphasized the importance for the working groups to regularly review their strategic plans to ensure alignment between formulations, objectives, targets, and indicators with the tasks and functions of the respective units, which is also required to monitor the level of achievement of set targets.
Prof. Ojat expressed his pride in UT’s achievements, which have always prioritized financial management principles based on accountability, transparency, effectiveness, efficiency, and economy. He extended his gratitude to all the UT staff, especially those under the coordination of the Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, particularly the planning and finance divisions, for their excellent work, resulting in UT’s financial performance consistently receiving the top position and the “Very Good” rating year after year. He conveyed his thanks to the budget management team under the coordination of the Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs and all those who have worked together to achieve this success.
Prof. Ojat also expressed his gratitude to past leaders for their contributions to UT’s achievements. “Alhamdulillah, we conclude the chapter of UT as a PTN PK BLU with this truly remarkable award. This award is for all of us, the UT community and family. Thank you to our former leaders who have always been with us, Prof. Atwi Suparman and Prof. Tian Belawati,” said Prof. Ojat.
Moving forward, UT will continue to enhance its performance in financial management, even as its legal status undergoes changes, as mentioned by the Rector. Prof. Ojat stated, “May UT’s budget management in the future, in the era of UT as a State University with Legal Entity status, continue to be handled with honesty, integrity, openness, and be accountable in both this world and the hereafter.” Let us continue to strive and witness UT’s success in transforming education through improved performance accountability and planning for the advancement of society.
